Out and about

Today was a very social Sunday! We went to church in Guilford. The service was in-person, outside, and had a lot of music in it. Both Sam and Stefan Amidon were there with their parents, and the Amidon family sang an Introit as a quartet. That was really special. Then, the choir must have sung six pieces - hymns and anthems, ending with a song for Patty Meyer who is leaving as the church Administrative Assistant (but will still be organist). Andy Davis wrote the hymn for Patty, to the Welsh tune CWM RHONDA. It was great. Pastor Elissa gave a wonderful sermon based on the story of the Feeding of the 5000. A fine service.

After church, the Davises invited us to their house for breakfast, made by Andy. So we went! We ate outside, and it was delicious. Scrambled eggs, home fries, bagels and fresh tomatoes from their garden. What could be better than that?

Then, Andy went to jam session with a group of musicians, and invited us to come listen. So we did.  Keyboard, a couple of accordions, a banjo, plus fiddles, eleven in all, playing fiddle tunes. That was great! A counterpoint to Marlboro.

We got home about 4:30! A lovely day! One high point for me was Mary Grove (a choir member) coming up to me and saying that she noticed I was walking with much more confidence. I was so pleased she noticed!
