On Our Way

We've made the first leg of our trip to Boulder, from home to Swarthmore, where we just had some pizza and salad and now I 'm watching the NCAA championship game between Wisconsin and Duke. No big dog in this race but I'm rooting for Wisconsin.

Our plan is to take the Penn Tpk to I-70 near Pittsburg and then it's I-70 all the way to Boulder. Google maps says it's 25 hours of driving time from here to Boulder, and we have three days. So that is very do-able. The fly in the ointment is the forecast of severe weather between here and there - thunderstorms, hail and even tornadoes. So we'll have to keep an eye on that.

We had a lovely Easter  -  full to the brim. Up at 5:15 to get to a sunrise service at Guilford which I co-led with Lise. There was a wonderful turnout for it - maybe 60  folks - followed by a pancake breakfast. Then we hightailed it to Dummerston for an 8:15 choir rehearsal. Great music and a very good choir. Everyone loved it. We said our goodbyes to John and Cynthia, who came to the service and sang the Hallelujah chorus with us, and then took our organist, Franz, and friend, Nancy
into Brattleboro after the service. Then we came home and started packing and cleaning in earnest - for about two hours. Then it was off to Katie and Savanna's for a lovely Easter dinner. We had a good time there and got home at about 10 pm and put in another two hours of packing and cleaning before getting to bed (we had washed the bedding and had to wait for it to get dry!). As I said, a full Easter Sunday!

Here are some photos from the Guilford sunrise service:

When we left home today we were in winter. Forgot to take a picture but still LOTS of snow around the house. But the snow gradually disappeared, especially as we drove south on the Taconic Parkway, and when we stopped at a plaza on the NJ tpk, there were crocuses in bloom. Swarthmore is well into spring.

            Ahh, our first spring blooms.

Going back to Saturday, we went to  Pathways for a Passover Seder with the Feinland clan - 24 people in all.

We love sharing in the Seder with our family and were impressed with the way the young folks were engaged in it. The Haggadah that was used gave Miriam, Moses' sister, special prominence.

Here are a couple of shots:
