An uneventful Labor Day.

Today was a holiday so Max had no school and neither Paul nor Jenny went to work. We could have all gone somewhere, but we didn't. We all stayed home. It was pretty hot in the sun, so it would not have been an ideal day for outdoor activity. It was Ellen's turn to do Spelling Bee on the phone, but I did it on paper, and made Genius +2. I made reservations for our trip to Boulder. We'll be leaving Friday and going down to Flaming Gorge in Utah, and then spend the night in Craig, Co. There were reasonably priced motels there. Most places near the Rockies are hundreds of dollars for one night. We'll have lunch with Rob at his house on Saturday. We'll try to see Max, if possible. The rest of the trip itinerary depends on whether we try to go to Taos to see Susie. We will go through St. Louis to see Katie and meet Christian. ******************* I spent a lot of time today formatting the pages I photographed at the two libraries in Salem, to make them readable on the computer. That is a tedious, time-consuming job which involves rotating the image, straightening it, cropping it, and enhancing it's brightness. Roughly a minute per page, maybe more, and there are 250-300 pages. So I've made a start on that, but much more to do. Ellen knitted and listened to podcsts today. Paul and Jenny were doing financial record-keeping for Paul's business as a contractor. Max - not sure what he was doing in his room. We just ate supper and I took a short walk with Ellen. Right now, Ellen is getting some groceries. Not sure if anything is planned for the evening. So that was the day. If Labor Day is a day of rest from labor, I guess it was - though of course, we are not laboring very much anytime.
One of the books I photographed. Robert Kysar was on the faculty of Chandler School of Theology in Atlanta. He died about 8 years ago.
