Activity day

DAY ELEVEN:  Tuesday we varied the day a bit by first taking Max to the Kick-off session of the Alpine Library Reading Program. It consisted mostly of kids doing various crafts. Max had a good time making a medallion and a Ninja from pipe stem cleaners.

OSM is his dad's cap - On Site Management (but it could mean One Special Max!)

After our time at the Library, we took Max to a golf lesson with a golf pro at the Snake River Sporting Club, where Jenny, his mom works. We learned later that Max loved his golf lesson and his last swing of the club sent the ball 35 yards down the freeway! Yay Max!  The SRSC is quite a handsome place and I took a couple of shots there:

We left Max with Jenny -  they were going to be joined later by Paul for a little party there at the club, so Ellen and I had a chance to go into Jackson and get some ice cream! When we got to the ice cream shop we found that a daily event for tourists was in progress: the Jackson "Shoot Out" - a sort of hokey enactment by actors of an old wild west stereotype where everyone shoots everyone else - all in good fun of course.

On the way back to Alpine, we took the "back way" on Fall Creek Road, which runs from Wilson over to the Snake River Canyon Road below Hoback Junction. It is a beautiful drive on a mostly wilderness road.

A nice day!!
