The northern route

Because of forecast of severe thunderstorms, hail and tornados along much of I-70 on Wednesday, we decided to go up to I-80 instead and get as far west as possible on Tuesday. So we are in Davenport, Iowa! We're in a Day's Inn. Got here about 11pm (CDST). A 16 -hour  drive from Swarthmore! About 900 miles. Might be a record. Ahead of us on Wed. Is just isolated thunderstorms. No tornados. But we'll miss seeing Katie :-(
