Betsey had her last full meal with solids tonight in anticipation of possible brain surgery tomorrow. Only clear liquids in the a.m. We leave at 9:45 for the Anschutz campus near Denver where everything will happen tomorrow. The big question is whether the cyst which has formed inside her tumor, which is packed with dead cancer cells, is shrinking naturally, or whether a catheter should be placed in it to drain it. That would be the surgery. It is "fairly routine." We 'll know the answer to that question after Betsey has an MRI tomorrow late morning. So tomorrow will be a momentous day.
Today we took Betsey to work as usual but then picked her up at 1 pm to take her to her Energy Healer, Lyria Pascal. Lyria is a Qigong practitioner (pronounced "chee gung"). It means "energy practice." It has been a very important part of Betsey's healing journey. You can read about it online.
