The rest of the day

After our little birding walk, I had a bit of lunch and went to the library where I downloaded email and worked on letters for Katie. I've fallen behind on the letters -  today I annotated letters written by Shirley and me from the period April 12-16, 1955, nine in all! We were writing letters like crazy! I realized too late that I won't be able to mail them to Katie until Monday because of the holiday. I should have tried to get something out today.

I came home and sat with Ellen and Max on the porch, and eventually Paul and Jenny got home and we had another lovely meal on the back deck in the cool of the evening: meat loaf, slaw and potato salad with asparagus.
