Beethoven wind octet

This morning we are at Marlboro and starting off with the Beethoven Wind Octet in E-Flat Major, Opus 103, for two oboes, two clarinets, two horns and two bassoons. The clarinetists are familiar: Anthony McGill and Yuhsin Su. I think he might have been one of her teachers.

Musicians playing the Beethoven Octet.************ Following the octet was another Beethoven piece for winds, the Quintet in E-flat Major, Opus 16, for piano, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon. Anthony McGill was again the clarinetist. He put in a full morning! He is principal clarinetist for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
