Blooms!

What a beautiful time of the year! Everything is bursting forth in blossoms. The irises on Shirley's grave are at their peak; the pansies on Betsey's grave are thriving. On the cemetery bank behind their graves the dandelions are in their glory. The rhododenron back at the house are in their full glory. Ellen's little gardens at the house are coming to life. It is just wonderful. Today is Pentecost Sunday. Shirley's commital in 1998 was on Pentecost Sunday. We went to church in Dummerston today and heard a good Pentecost sermon from Shawn and saw our Dummerston friends. After church we came down to the cemetery. This afternoon Ellen will have a Zoom session with Susie and Sarah and later we will go to the Brattleboro Retreat grounds and hear a concert by the Brattleboro Women's Chorus. Last night we had a nice cookout at John and Cynthia's - see a separate blog post about that. Just a great time to be alive, despite all the violence in the world.
Betsey's and Shirley's graves today.
Shirley's grave adorned with iris, and above and behind is a sea of dandelions.
The rhododendron is at its peak today!
